Academic & Cable Telecommunications Forum 2012

Boston, MAY 20 - 21

bostonThe second annual Academic and Telecommunications Forum, was hosted by The Cable Center in association with the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, and had taken place May 20-21 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center immediately before The Cable Show 2012.

The ACT Forum is designed to help foster the relationship between cable and higher education, and provide an exclusive opportunity for college faculty to interact with cable industry leaders and professional colleagues. Verified faculty and doctoral candidates qualified for an academic-only admission rate of $125 (an 85% savings over the all access, non-NCTA member Cable Show registration rate).

The Cable Center, in association with the NCTA, hosted the Academic and Telecommunications (ACT) Forum for the first time in 2011 in conjunction with Cable Connection—Spring and The Cable Show.

This day-and-a-half event provided faculty with an all-access pass to the latest news, technology and information about the cable industry. The Forum allowed members of the academic and cable communities the opportunity to discuss key issues and trends in the cable telecommunications industry in an intimate setting.

Sessions focused on current issues of interest and importance to the industry, with topics ranging from general industry and legislative overviews to the relationship between programmers and operators, customer engagement, emerging technologies, and social media.
