The C-SPAN distance learning initiative was formed by C-SPAN, The Cable Center, and the University of Denver, creating a unique course in communications and political science for students across the country. Students experience the intensity of live broadcasting and engage in debate with politicians and members of the media about current events of importance to the younger generation. The Amos B. Hostetter, Jr. Distance Learning Program, named for the founder of Continental Cablevision, gives students access to the world of public policy and international communication through the resources of The Cable Center’s Distance Learning Studio, a communications studio equipped with cutting-edge communications technology. Since January, 2002, University of Denver undergraduate classes in political communications have been delivered via a live broadband feed from C-SPAN’s studios in Washington, DC, to The Cable Center’s Distance Learning Studio. So far, the program has served DU students, as well as participants from George Mason University, Northwestern University, Pace University, and Purdue University. 2008 SPRING QUARTER CLASS SCHEDULE » WATCH THE CLASS LIVE »
