Tony Fox
Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Comedy Central

Tony Fox joined COMEDY CENTRAL before the Comedy Channel’s culminating merger with HA! The TV Comedy Network in January of 1991.  His past work in media relations and public relations for the company led to a November, 1996 promotion to senior vice president of corporate communications. Previously, he was vice president of the department, vice president of media relations, and director of public relations for the Comedy Channel. Fox’s extensive media background as well as his personality has led him to his newest position.  As of November 2000 Tony Fox has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications.

In charge of both internal and external strategic communication, Fox currently oversees and implements consumer press, trade, and business press.  He is also involved in the development of pro-social platforms for the network, such as Comedy RX and Comics Come Home. Communication efforts within the company include supervising Centralfuge, the company newsletter, and contributing to CentralNet, Comedy Central ’s web site.

One of Fox’s current goals is to maintain open and honest dialogue with the press and to provide backup resources for the advertising and affiliate sales groups. Of working at the company, he said it has been a great experience. “The personality of the company mirrors my own, and I couldn’t imagine a more aesthetic fit,” he said.

Fox’s past experience includes a number of public relations jobs at HBO, and head of sports publicity at CBS.

While he has made the transition of working for a comedy channel, Fox said he has not given up his love of sports. He spends his free time playing hockey, golf, and softball, but also enjoys cooking and gardening. Currently, Fox resides in Little Silver, NJ with his wife Andrea and children Patrick, Charlie, and Sarah.
