Course description: This course provides in-depth exposure to key operational issues in the cable industry. Topics include relevant and upcoming regulation, workplace skill enhancements in the areas of negotiations, conflict management, media strategies, community relations, customer experience management, and operational finance. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to apply knowledge gained to a wide range of managerial duties and future strategic efforts.
Course length: 2.5 days
Course objectives:
- Review key aspects of communication related to team building.
- Examine the basics of negotiation.
- Discuss techniques for successful conflict management.
- Define concept of customer experience management (CEM) and its importance and relevancy.
- Identify how to effectively communicate with the media and other key community-based constituencies.
- Describe the key aspects to financial management within a cable organization.
