The Center is a non-profit organization whose initial support came from tax deductible donations of cash and in-kind gifts. Over $60 million was raised, and we currently have $30 million in endowments – providing permanent funding for The Center. The Center is not membership or subscriber driven, we rely on contributions to help ensure the availability of a rich, deep, and thorough information tool. The Center recently completed its Capital Campaign, which began in 1997. Those funds have been used to construct the world-class facility, to begin the installation of state-of-the-art telecommunications equipment, and to fund an operating endowment that will ensure The Center’s long-term financial strength. Phase II of the campaign, The Education Campaign, was launched in 2004. The $65 million fundraising program is dedicated to funding opportunities for educational programs.
The Cable Center is more than just a museum. We are home to many cable-related collections, but they are not merely for display. They are available to the industry, academia, and the general public for research and study, and the collections are also utilized in the many programs and events for all of the core components of The Center, including:
The Center receives support from those who are proud to have been part of an industry that has had such a profound impact on our society – from the giants of the industry to the foot soldiers, both past and present. Cable operating companies, programmers, vendors, and associations all support The Center and its mission. The Center has more than 2000 donors, and the list continues to grow.
The Center is a busy, active environment where industry professionals can go to learn, to advance their careers, and to enhance their understanding of cable telecommunications. Many programs, events and resources are available to industry professionals through The Center.

The Center is open either by appointment or invitation. Additionally, it is available for rental events ranging from seminars, meetings, summits, and conferences to weddings and social events.
The Center’s board is made up of a cross section of some of the top executives from all aspects of cable telecommunications. The majority of the board is currently active in the industry.
The Center employs approximately 25 full- and part-time staff members dedicated to carrying out our mission of education.
