Director Data Mgmt & Business Intelligence
WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone

Mary is currently the director of data management and business intelligence at WOW! Internet, Cable and Phone. Prior to that, she spent 17 years managing the global BI organization at CenturyLink/Level 3 Communications/ tw telecom (lots of acquisition fun!). Taking the time machine back even further, she started out her career in consulting with American Management Systems where she learned the skills of thinking like a partner and focusing on the true need that has guided her entire career.

Business Intelligence is her passion. She strives to drive improvement and change into an organization through the use of facts and data. One of her favorite quotes is by Dostoyevsky from Crime and Punishment: "We've got facts, they say. But facts aren't everything; at least half the battle consists in how one makes use of them!". In nearly every company data isn't an issue, everyone these days has massive amounts of data. In fact, a BI organization can get you almost any answer you want because, well, math. However, building data and reports to tell the true story and not just what people want to hear is her separating skill and makes her either the hero or the villain (depending on which answer you were hoping the data gave).

Transparency, accuracy and improvement is what she brings to the table and drives into her team and organization. She claims you'll probably either love her or hate her (we’ll go with love), but you'll have an opinion either way and that's an outstanding way to leave an impression.
