Cable Apprentice Strikes Again
Innovation Meets Competition!
RMCA’s 13th Annual Cable Apprentice pitch competition was held at The Cable Center last week and kept us on the edge of our seats. Three groups of MBA students from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business went head-to-head on stage to compete for the most innovative business pitches focused on 10G. Their presentations were fresh, visionary, and smart—and the competition was a close one. Congratulations to the winners, Team 3 – DHT Consulting and a big thank you to the judges of this year’s pitch competition: Charlotte Field, SVP Applications Platform Operations at Charter Communications; Rachel BeiselSVP, Chief Marketing Officer at CableLabs; and Robyn Tolva, Group Vice President, Product Deployment at Charter Communications. And, a special shout-out to RMCA president, Aaron Voss (who is also one our Cable Center Ambassadors) for making this event such a fun one for our industry to attend and support!
Let’s Talk About Oral Histories
Don’t Miss These New Additions to the Barco Library!
February was the month for Oral History tapings, where cable industry executives record their career stories, share their earned wisdom, and just chat about cable! On set last month were Cynthia Carpenter*, VP, Human Resources and Employee Experience at Charter Communications; Lou Borrelli*, Industry Leader & Entrepreneur; and Ken Klaer, SVP, Strategic Infrastructure and Comcast Technology Solutions at Comcast Cable. These three new Oral Histories were moderated by our great and very talented friend, Stewart Schley, who also stars in Season 2 of our podcast, Stories from the Headend, which will be released later this spring.
