SCTE Circle of Eagles Bestow Honorary Membership  to Cable Center CEO

DENVER, Sept. 25, 2014 – Larry Satkowiak, president and CEO of The Cable Center was named an honorary member of the SCTE Circle of Eagles on Sept. 24th during the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo '14. Member leaders surprised Satkowiak with the honorary membership during the celebratory dinner held at The Cable Center.

In 1999, SCTE Charter Members voted at their annual dinner to allow new members. They formed a new exclusive group called The Circle of Eagles, encompassing those who laid the groundwork for the formation of SCTE, including SCTE Charter members, SCTE Hall of Fame members, Fellow Members, former SCTE board chairmen and presidents and other industry veterans. The first Circle of Eagles dinner was held in 2000.

Honorary membership into The Circle of Eagles is extremely rare; Satkowiak is only the second person to be bestowed entry into the esteemed organization. Wendell Woody, nominated Satkowiak saying, "Larry's leadership of The Cable Center and commitment to capturing oral histories preserves our legacy. In order to look to the future, we need to know where we came from. We appreciate that The Cable Center is telling our story."

"I am deeply touched to be inducted as an honorary member of the Circle of Eagles," said Satkowiak. "The members of this group have provided outstanding technological leadership for the cable industry and I am humbled and honored to be counted among the members."

Also at the dinner, Wendell Woody was presented with The Cable Center "Good Egg" award, recognizing his industry leadership and championship of The Center.
