Cable Center Names Jana Henthorn President and CEO
Effective January 2016

henthornJana2015DENVER, October 6, 2015 – The Cable Center announced today that its board of directors has chosen Jana Henthorn as the organization’s next president and chief executive officer. Henthorn will succeed current president and CEO Larry Satkowiak, upon his retirement, on January 1, 2016.

Henthorn has more than 30 years’ experience in the cable industry, working for operators, programmers and nonprofits. “Jana will bring a deep breadth of expertise to the position. She has the business acumen and the industry knowledge to strengthen The Center’s position as the go-to information resource for the industry,” said Jerry Kent, chairman and CEO of Suddenlink Communications and chairman of The Cable Center’s Board of Directors.

Henthorn has been with The Cable Center for 11 years and currently serves as senior vice president of academic and industry outreach. She leads The Center’s Customer Experience Central initiatives which include the Cable Center Customer Centric Consortium (C5), a consortium of executives from the largest operators in North America and Europe focused on expanding industry knowledge and facilitating new approaches to customer care.

Henthorn said, "The Cable Center is a solid organization and I look forward to leading the team to determine how our programs can best serve our constituents in the future.”

Prior to The Cable Center, Henthorn was vice president of affiliate sales for A&E Television Networks where she led the network sales team for 16 states and two regional offices. She also served as vice president of operations and service fulfillment for Jones Intercable, one of the top 10 cable distributors at the time. She served on the National Board and Executive Committee for Women in Cable and Telecommunications from 1995 – 2000. Henthorn graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and completed her MBA at the University of Denver.

Jana is the recipient of numerous industry awards including: induction into the Cable Pioneers in 2010; a charter fellow of the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute in 1994; WICT Rocky Mountain Partner of the Industry award in 2008 and WICT National Chapter Advisor of the Year in 2012.
