Cable Center’s Future-Focused Leadership Program Now Accepting Applications From Cable Industry Rising Stars
DENVER – The Cable Central is excited to announce that the application process for its 2018 Intrapreneurship Academy (TCC-IA) is now open. TCC-IA is a leadership program geared towards rising stars in the cable industry. It is designed to educate and empower the next generation of leaders to become intrapreneurs, to envision and effect innovation within their organization’s corporate structure.
Registration is now open for The Cable Center’s two TCC-IA sessions in 2018: Spring, April 17 – June 24; and Fall, August 14 – Oct. 11. Each nine-week session combines in-person, and online facilitated self-study, where Intrapreneurs will work through real-world projects as they complete each module. Candidates can apply at www.cablecenter.org. The deadline for spring session applications is Feb. 16.
“TCC-IA is a high impact program designed to help participants, particularly mid-level managers and new directors, develop the tools needed to help them make their ideas become realities,” said Janice Silver, Director of TCC-IA. “The program provides incredible visibility to cable industry leaders and leadership within the participants’ own organizations. In a survey of our fall class, 93% of graduates agreed that they will use their new tools and skills learned in their current role.”
While an entrepreneur is defined as a person who establishes a new business with an innovative idea or concept, an intrapreneur undertakes innovations on behalf of their organization. Both entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs share similar qualities like conviction, creativity, zeal and insight, and both are instrumental in driving innovation.
The Cable Center held a successful TCC-IA pilot program last fall, graduating 17 “Intrapreneurs” from five cable organizations, including Charter, Arris, Cisco, Liberty Global and Evolution Digital. Several cable industry leaders participated in the training which included presentations from Phil McKinney, Evan Shapiro and Peter Kiley, and panels featuring Jay Rolls, David Fellows, Rich DiGeronimo, John Gowen and Tracy Jenkins Winchester. Our TCC-IA Dean, Robyn Bolton, is a former partner at Innosight, with 15+ years as an innovation and growth expe
