This extremely popular Mavericks Lecture Series ran from 2006 – 2012, hosting more than 50 lectures on college campuses across the United States – from Michigan State to the University of Texas; UCLA to Syracuse – and everywhere in between. These presentations are preserved for future generations, and available for viewing on this site.
As part of the Community of Innovators, in 2017 The Cable Center revived its Mavericks Lecture Series, a program that gives successful, dynamic industry leaders a platform to impart their wisdom and insight to university students.

This was a unique opportunity to meet Rich DiGeronimo and learn about his journey from the University of Michigan to the Executive ranks at Spectrum, which serves over 27 million homes and businesses, 75 million people and nearly 300 million connected devices.
Afterwards students stayed for pizza, conversation, and a drawing for an Apple Watch Series 3.
The Julian Brodsky Maverick Interview at the top of the page was part of our 2017 reboot. The interview was moderated by Journalist, Stewart Schley, writer for Multichannel News and author of the book, “Fast Forward: Video on Demand and the Future of Television.” This event was co-presented by the Cable Center and the Reiman School of Finance at the University of Denver Daniels College of Business. Julian Brodsky is a Comcast co-founder and cable industry legend whose larger than life career has left an indelible mark on the industry.
These expanded versions of Mavericks lectures positioned as a “One Day Degree in Cable”, brought out the “big guns” from all aspects of the industry to discuss topics ranging from opportunities in television programming, to trends in television technology, and career advice from top executives.
